The Kazakhstan national football team lost 5-0 to the Norway team in the final match of the Nations League, reports “Adyrna.”
In the group stage results, Norway secured first place with 13 points. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan failed to score a single goal in all six matches, earning only one point by drawing at home against Norway. As a result, Kazakhstan was relegated to Division C.
This season, Kazakhstan competed in Division B of the Nations League. During the draw, the national team was placed in the same group as Austria, Norway, and Slovenia.
On November 17, the head coach of the national team, Stanislav Cherchesov, commented on the match against Norway.
*“The only match this season where we made no mistakes was the one against Norway in Almaty. Thanks to that, we earned a point. In all other games, we conceded goals due to our mistakes. Today, too, we made an error in a critical moment and allowed a goal. Yes, our opponents were strong and applied pressure, but pressure means nothing. The players tried their best, and I thanked them for that, but we must eliminate such mistakes next season.
This year has been full of setbacks, but next year we need to start fresh. We’ll wait for the draw and prepare for the upcoming season,”* the coach stated.
