At the meeting of the Senate, deputy Andrey Lukin announced a moratorium on construction in mountainous and hillside areas of Almaty and proposed restrictions. At the same time, he sounded the alarm, saying that the groups, who were trying to get rich after spending money, would destroy the nature of the beautiful city, reported the national portal "Adyrna".

The deputy conveyed the motivation of the public in Almaty city and said that the public is worried about the construction on the slopes of the mountains. In addition, during construction, apple orchards were burned, and the number of controversial issues increased.

"Private construction companies, using the moratorium on business inspections, can change the purpose of agricultural and horticultural land to private housing, and continue the construction of multi-story residential complexes in the mountainous areas. It is known that the soft soil of the mountainous slopes is not suitable for complex construction. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has informed several times that the construction in this area can lead to man-made landslides," said the deputy in the parliamentary question addressed to the head of the government at the plenary session of the Senate.

The MP also pointed out that such an intensive construction is not just happening. He insisted that the burning of apple orchards and the construction of intensive residential buildings instead is due to someone's interest or negligence.
