Representatives of the Kazakhstan table tennis federation presented a two-room apartment in Astana to the Kazakh athlete Kirill Gerasimenko. This was announced by the Table Tennis Federation, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
According to the federation, the athlete was honored for his bright and successful performance at the Paris Olympics. Kirill Gerasimenko took ninth place in men's singles table tennis.
It was also noted that Kazakhstani tennis players have not shown such high results before. Kirill rose from 46th place to 37th place in the world ranking after his game in Paris. Daniyar Abilgazin, President of the Kazakhstan Table Tennis Federation, congratulated Gerasimenko on his success and noted that this is a historic event for table tennis.
"Throughout the tournament, Kirill showed unwavering determination, unquestionable skill, professionalism and true character. He proved that Kazakhstani table tennis masters can compete with the strongest athletes of the world.
Its result opened a new page in the history of table tennis in Kazakhstan. We are proud of his achievements and decided to recognize and reward his work. A new Olympic cycle will soon begin. Our plan is to win three licenses. "We intend to obtain a license in the individual competition between men and women, as well as in the team competition between men," said Daniyar Abilghazin.
