Members of the Mazhilis have proposed increasing the minimum wage from 85,000 to 110,000 tenge. This was stated in the conclusion of the Parliament’s Committee on Social and Cultural Development regarding the new three-year budget draft, reports Adyrna.

The document was reviewed by deputies on Wednesday. However, government representatives announced that no funds have been allocated for this purpose in the 2026 budget.

“The Committee on Social and Cultural Development considers it necessary to raise the minimum wage from 85,000 to 110,000 tenge,” the committee’s conclusion said.

Vice Minister of Finance Yerzhan Birzhanov commented on this proposal during discussions of the three-year budget draft in the Mazhilis. According to him, the government has not included the necessary expenditures for raising the minimum wage in the current budget plan.

“Today, the 2026 budget is being discussed in the Mazhilis. The outcome will depend on the deputies’ vote. But in the current budget draft, no funds are allocated to increase the minimum wage,” Yerzhan Birzhanov stated.

It should be noted that in 2025, the minimum wage is set at 85,000 tenge.
