Russia has banned the import of Kazakh watermelons

From July 5 to 13, 280 tons of watermelons, 40 tons of onions, 40 tons of fruits and 30 tons of other phytosanitary products are not allowed to enter Kulundin and Rubtsov districts of Altai region, the national portal Adyrna reports citing the website of Rosselkhoznadzor.

Inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor's office in the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic found that the product was imported, including non-compliance with shipping documents, information about the recipients of products and unloading points, as well as phytosanitary certificates were invalid.

Earlier it was reported that inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor in the Altai Territory and the Republic of Altai in the border areas of the Russian-Kazakh section of the State Border of the Russian Federation worked in the framework of interagency cooperation with the Border Directorate.

21 violations of phytosanitary legislation were revealed during the import of more than 390 tons of products from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to the Altai region of Russia.

Thus, the import of products that do not meet the requirements of phytosanitary legislation in these areas is prohibited. All goods were returned to shippers. The perpetrators were brought to administrative responsibility under Article 10.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
