Renowned composer and poet Kurmanai Baktiyarkyzy has passed away. Her children shared the sad news, Adyrna reports.
“Our mother has returned to her Lord. Please keep her in your prayers. She leaves behind her eldest, Khanshaiym, Tolganai, her youngest, Sunkar, and the Kazakh people, who loved her dearly. Thank you for the love you have shown for our mother,” they said.
In March, the composer mentioned she had undergone a major surgery for the seventh time.
