Tehran has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in response to Israel’s missile attack on Iran, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran requests the President of the Security Council to convene an urgent meeting to address these gross violations and unlawful actions and to hold this criminal regime accountable,” stated Iran’s Permanent Representative Amir Saeid Iravani in a letter addressed to the President of the UN Security Council and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

On the night of October 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched strikes on military targets in Iran in response to a massive attack on the Jewish state on October 1. According to media reports, Israel mobilized over 100 aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets, for the attack on Iran.

Later, Israel made an official statement about the attack on Iran. According to an IDF statement, Israelis consider the mission to be accomplished. Tehran, in turn, stated that it reserves the right to respond after the strike on Iranian territory.
