The boundaries of Alatau city in the Almaty region have been established, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.

The Almaty Regional Administration adopted the decree “On the establishment of the boundaries of Alatau city in the Almaty region” on September 25, 2024.

“The boundaries of Alatau city, including parts of the lands of Konaev city, Ile, and Talgar districts, with a total area of 88,000 hectares, have been established,” the document states.

The newly established city of Alatau will include 10,962 hectares from Konaev city, 64,985 hectares from the Ile district, and 12,053 hectares from the Talgar district.

The official document will come into force on October 12, 2024.

It is also worth noting that the Prime Minister had signed a decree regarding the inclusion of the village of Zhetigen in the Ile district of Almaty region as a city of regional significance.
