Ukraine and Russia once again exchanged the bodies of their dead soldiers

Ukraine returned the bodies of 250 dead soldiers to Russia. This was announced on Facebook on August 2 by the coordination headquarters for the management of prisoners of war of Ukraine, the national portal "Adyrna" reported referring to dw.com.

They mentioned the bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers from morgues in Lugansk, Bakhmut, Mariinsk, Avdeevsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as Mariupol, Horlovka and the territory of the Russian Federation.

The message stated that the return of the bodies was carried out thanks to the cooperation of the headquarters with the Ministry of Reintegration, the Joint Center under the SBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the security and defense sector, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other structures.

"After the presentation, the bodies of our defenders will be handed over to their relatives for a proper burial," the coordination headquarters said.

Russian State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliyev told RBC that the bodies of 38 soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces who died during the war in Ukraine were received as part of the exchange of Russian sides.

Earlier, the exchange of bodies of the dead soldiers took place on June 14. After that, 254 dead servicemen were returned to Ukraine, and 32 corpses were returned to Russia.
