On the second Sunday of May, one of the warmest and most heartfelt holidays celebrated in our country is Mother’s Day. This special occasion highlights the important role of mothers in both family and society.

A mother is not only the heart and foundation of the family, but also the key person who shapes the upbringing of future generations and instills spiritual and moral values.

Mother’s Day is widely celebrated in many countries around the world. In particular, more than 20 countries — including the United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, Türkiye, Japan, Brazil, and Australia — observe the holiday on the second Sunday of May. In Kazakhstan, this day also holds special significance. It is dedicated to honoring mothers and promoting family values.

Supporting and protecting mothers is considered one of the priorities of the state’s social policy. A mother is not only the pillar of the family, but also the person who passes national values and good upbringing on to future generations.

In this regard, the “Council of Mothers,” established under the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, has been actively carrying out its work. Today, the council has 1,713 branches across the country, including 17 regional, 56 city, 159 district, and 1,481 rural branches. More than 16,000 women are members of the council.

The “Council of Mothers” contributes to strengthening the institution of family, educating young people, and promoting national traditions and family values.

On this festive day, we sincerely wish all mothers good health, happiness, and prosperity. May every home be filled with joy and harmony, and may children always become the pride of their parents.
