Famous kuyshi and composer Nurgisa Tlendiyev’s wife, actress Dariga Tlendiyeva, has passed away. This was announced on the Instagram page of the press service of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra of Folk Instruments, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
“We express our deep condolences on the passing of the Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, talented actress, kuyshi, composer, and wife of the People’s Hero Nurgisa Tlendiyev, Dariga Tlendiyeva. She was a prominent figure who made a significant contribution to the development of our national culture. More than just the life partner of the kuyshi-composer, she played a vital role in preserving and passing on his creative legacy to future generations. Her art and spiritual heritage will forever remain in the hearts of the Kazakh people,” wrote the Kurmangazy Orchestra team.
Dariga Tlendiyeva was born in 1946 in the Koksu district of Almaty region, in the former Aktekeshe district. She made her film debut at “Kazakhfilm” studio in Kulager, followed by roles in White Car, Six-Year-Old Alpamys, I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye, Zhambyl’s Youth, and other feature films.
Since 1993, she worked with the Otyrar Sazy orchestra. Since 1967, she had been an actress at the “Kazakhfilm” studio (now named after Sh. Aimanov).
She appeared in films such as Trizna (1974), Alpamys Goes to School (1977), Enemy, Fear the Ninth Son (1984), I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye (1992), Zhambyl (1993), and others.
She was the president of the Nurgisa Tlendiyev International Public Foundation and was honored as a Kazakhstan Honored Artist in 1998.
