Russia’s Izvestia newspaper has published an article by Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev titled “Kazakhstan and Russia: New Horizons of Strategic Partnership,” reports the Adyrna national portal.
The article highlights key developments and prospects in the cooperation between the two countries. President Tokayev emphasized the trust and stability of relations between Kazakhstan and Russia, noting the establishment of regular and open communication with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This relationship has facilitated prompt resolution of arising issues and strengthened friendly ties between the nations.
The article mentions several high-level meetings held between Kazakhstan and Russia over the past year, including comprehensive negotiations, meetings during international events, and phone conversations.
Particular attention was given to the growth of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Currently, over 23,000 Russian companies operate in Kazakhstan, including 4,000 new companies established in the past year, reflecting the dynamic economic relationship between the nations.
The article also highlights major joint projects in energy, industry, transport and logistics, agriculture, and other sectors. Over 90 projects worth more than $18 billion have been implemented, with 49 additional promising projects under development.
Furthermore, the article touches on the importance of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The EAEU has proven its effectiveness as a key platform for integrating economic policies and fostering mutual trade.
It is worth noting that at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a state visit to Kazakhstan on November 27. High-level negotiations are scheduled during the visit, and both leaders will participate in the 20th Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum via video conference.
On November 28, Tokayev will chair the next session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Council. Delegations from member countries will discuss regional and international security issues, with several documents expected to be adopted following the session.
