The metropolitan department of the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies is holding a public hearing on the increase of water tariffs in the capital from January 1 of next year, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
"The number of subscribers, that is, the number of apartments, is increasing every year. Currently, there are 470 thousand subscribers, and in the near future this figure will reach 500 thousand. In this regard, an increase in the staff of the organization is being considered. Increasing the water tariff is necessary to make additional investments in the repair and modernization of sewerage networks, to upgrade equipment, to increase the cost of strategic goods, and to increase the wages of the company's employees," said the general director of MCC "Astana Water Channel" Nature Zeinulkabden at a public hearing held in the Almaty district administration.
