Today, including last year's waste, the stock of rice groats is 60.4 thousand tons. This is enough to cover domestic consumption needs until the new crop is harvested in September.
It should be noted that this year it is planned to harvest more rice than in 2022. Accordingly, there are no objective reasons to increase the price due to the shortage of grain. However, the increase in prices may be influenced by external factors (lack of crops in other countries, high export demand, etc.).
In June, a republican council was held in Kyzylorda on price stabilization of socially important food products. According to its conclusion, akimats and the SEC signed contracts for the supply of 6.7 thousand tons of rice at a fixed price. This volume will be sold in all regions of the country through large retail chains, social stores and SEC's own points.
