The worker died on the territory of the ArcelorMittal Temirtau sheet-rolling shop, adyrna.kz reported.
The circumstances of the worker's death are now being investigated by the police. The death of an employee of the contracting organization "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" was confirmed by the press service of the Police Department of the Karaganda region. The department announced that they are investigating.
"On the fact of the death of an employee of the contracting organization ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, a criminal case was registered under part 3 of article 156 "Violation of labor protection rules" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the press service of the Karaganda Region Police Department reported.
Recall that in November 2022, an accident occurred at the Lenin mine of the ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC. At the time of the incident, 106 miners were underground, 101 people rose to the surface. As a result of the incident, five people died, several more miners were hospitalized in the Shakhtinsk hospital.
Later, the commission identified 26 persons who committed violations. Biju Nair, Director General of ArcelorMittal Temirtau, and Director of the Coal Department Gelson Batista are among them. The materials of the special investigation were handed over to the police.
