On March 8 at 08:29 Astana time, the seismic station network of the Seismological Research Institute under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan recorded an earthquake, reports the Adyrna national portal.
According to the agency, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Kazakhstan, in the East Kazakhstan region, 48 kilometers from the city of Zaisan, in a mountainous area. The earthquake’s magnitude in the Zaisan district measured 2 points on the scale.
As of now, no reports of casualties or destruction have been received. Emergency services are monitoring the situation.
It is worth noting that earlier, a warning was issued about possible air quality deterioration in several regions of the country.
