Renowned writer and journalist Dauren Kuat has been appointed as the editor-in-chief of the magazine «Zhuldyz»، reports «Adyrna»
Previously, he served as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Kazakh Literature.
“For six years and four months, I led Kazakh Literature, and now, under the direction of our chairman, Mereke Kulkenov, I have been appointed as the editor-in-chief of «Zhuldyz» magazine, leaving Kazakh Literature in the hands of my colleague Bauyrzhan Zhakyb. I am deeply grateful to the team for our journey together, where we worked tirelessly to produce a meaningful and artistic literary weekly. I was moved when I saw the reluctance in the eyes of my colleagues as I left. But change is necessary in life. This was one reason. Secondly, I was beginning to neglect my own writing while being immersed in the weekly. So, I requested this change from Mereke, who kindly accepted my request and transferred me to «Zhuldyz» he wrote on his social media account.
Dauren Kuat was born in 1973 in Ashybulak village, Kapal district, in the former Taldykorgan region. He is a laureate of the M. Kashgari and G. Musrepov awards, and his prose book Alkyssa was published by Dastur publishing house.
