A remote observer in Astana has been accused of recording voters’ personal data, reports “Adyrna” national portal.

“At polling station №2 in Astana, observer R.K. Sadikov, a representative of the ‘Erkindik Kanaty’ public organization, disrupted the voting process by recording voter lists containing personal data. This is a gross violation of personal data protection laws and contradicts the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on elections,” said Horan Tashatova, the chairperson of polling station №2 in Astana.

According to the commission head, the observer interfered with other observers’ work, argued with commission members, and disrupted the process.

“An act on the interference with the electoral process has been drawn up, and a decision has been made,” the commission concluded.
