Today, two schools built as part of the “Comfortable School” national project were inaugurated in the city. A 1200-seat secondary school No. 47 in Bereke village, Almaly rural district, and a 300-seat secondary school No. 46 in Saryozek district were opened, according to the regional governor’s press service.

Regional governor Serik Shapkenov attended the opening ceremony of the educational institutions and congratulated the residents on the occasion of the new schools’ launch.

President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev emphasized that quality education is a key factor in becoming a successful nation and tasked with creating favorable conditions for each student’s comprehensive development. The newly opened schools are fully equipped to support students’ learning and teachers’ creative work. We are confident that these schools will foster educated, talented, and competitive young generations, said Shapkenov.

Over 120 teachers will educate 3000 children in two shifts at the new schools.

One of the parents, Khanshayym Kopbergenova from Bereke village, brought her eight grandchildren to enroll in school No. 47. She expressed great joy as her grandchildren will now study in a modern, well-equipped school.

“Today, the long-awaited school has opened. We witnessed the construction process from start to finish, and now it is ready to welcome children. I, along with other parents, am very happy. Previously, my grandchildren attended the local school, but it was overcrowded. Now, that issue seems to have been resolved as they are enrolled in the new school. May they excel in their studies and become the pride of our country,” said Kopbergenova.

The schools are equipped with video surveillance cameras connected to an emergency control center, and barrier-free environments have been created for children with special educational needs. Separate blocks have been built for primary and secondary students.

The school area includes two running tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, a tennis court, playgrounds, and workout areas.

The school building features two gyms, two cafeterias for primary and secondary students, a 260-seat assembly hall, and a library. It also includes rooms for psychologists, speech therapists, medical facilities, modern classrooms, physics and chemistry labs, and STEM rooms.

As part of the “Comfortable School” national project, three more schools are expected to be commissioned by the end of this year.

By the end of 2025, the number of “Comfortable Schools” will reach 12, serving over 12,000 students.
