A large building is about to be demolished in Almaty, reported the national portal "Adyrna" referring to the press service of the city administration.
"The Department of Construction Control of Almaty informs about demolition of the building at 170/1 Dostyk Ave. (...) The management submitted a claim to the Medeu District Court for the demolition of the building and was satisfied by the court's decision. After August 29, 2023, the Almaty city court left the decision of the first instance unchanged," said the message issued on Wednesday.
Construction on the site was started by the owner in 2005, after which the facility was stopped for several years.
It was reported that the plot was later transferred to another owner due to the lack of a pre-agreed project, notification of the start of construction and installation works, and lack of design and technical supervision. It is also shown that the new owner built illegal trade facilities in the territory.
