President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the High-Level Dialogue on China’s initiatives in global development and global governance, held within the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The event was dedicated to the theme “Building a Bright Future for Global Development Together, Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration,” reports Adyrna.

In his remarks, the Head of State stated that gross violations of international law have become a “new normal.”

“As a result, global stability has been undermined, and the trust between peoples, political leaders, and states has eroded. In such a turbulent period, we must all contribute to strengthening the UN’s position and help the Organization adapt to a changing world. The spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation must prevail over the flames of war. Heads of state carry the responsibility of striving for peace,” he said.

According to Tokayev, resolving territorial disputes has never been easy. He emphasized that both sides must show maximum restraint and responsibility for the sake of future generations.

“The psychology of hatred leaves no room for reconciliation between conflicting parties and leads them into ruin. The scale of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is truly horrifying. It cannot be ignored. This conflict has deep and complex historical roots, which we cannot overlook. Kazakhstan calls for an immediate cessation of military operations, full protection of civilians, and the unimpeded delivery of assistance within the framework of international humanitarian law. We support a solution based on the peaceful coexistence of two states and recognize the leading role of the UN. Kazakhstan also supports diplomatic initiatives aimed at regional peacebuilding in the Middle East, such as the Arab Peace Initiative, the New York Declaration, and the Abraham Accords,” the president added.
