This morning in Astana, a two-story private house caught fire, resulting in the deaths of four children aged between 2 and 13, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
The children who passed away were born in 2011, 2015, 2021, and 2022.
“Rescuers arrived within six minutes of receiving the call and observed an open fire. The fire was preliminarily confined to an area of 500 square meters and was fully extinguished,” reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a forensic examination has been ordered. A fire investigation lab is working at the scene, and psychologists from the MES Medical Disaster Center and Astana Department of Emergency Situations are providing support to the victims’ relatives.
According to Astana’s city administration, the burned house was home to two families. The family of the deceased children will receive material, housing, and other necessary assistance.
The second family was unharmed and has been temporarily relocated to alternative housing.
