In Kazakhstan, the fines for drivers who exceed the speed limit will double, as reported by “Adyrna.” On October 3, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed two laws related to traffic regulation. One of these laws introduces changes to the Administrative Code, setting new fine amounts for drivers. These fines will come into effect in two months.

Drivers who break the speed limit will now be fined 40 MCI (Monthly Calculation Index), which is 147,680 KZT. If the offense is repeated within a year, the fine increases to 60 MCI, or 221,520 KZT.

Currently, speeding by up to 20 km/h results in an 18,000 KZT fine, while exceeding the limit by 20 to 40 km/h carries a 37,000 KZT fine.
