According to a household survey, in 2021 the share of people with incomes below the subsistence level was 5.2% (in 2020 - 5.3%). In 2021, the highest level of regional poverty was registered in Turkestan (9.8%), Mangistau (8.6%) regions, and the lowest - in Nur-Sultan (2.2%), - said the National Bureau of Statistics.

In 2021, the average subsistence level per capita in the country amounted to an average of 37,266 tenge per month.
