The highest level of poverty in the country was registered in Turkestan and Mangistau regions, according to the national portal "Adyrna".

According to a household survey, in 2021 the share of people with incomes below the subsistence level was 5.2% (in 2020 - 5.3%). In 2021, the highest level of regional poverty was registered in Turkestan (9.8%), Mangistau (8.6%) regions, and the lowest - in Nur-Sultan (2.2%), - said the National Bureau of Statistics.

“Poverty rate is the percentage of the population with income (used for consumption) below the subsistence level to the total population. In 2021, the average subsistence level per capita in the country amounted to an average of 37,266 tenge per month.
