Karzhaubai Nurymov, the father of Sherzat Bolat, who was killed in Talgar, made an appeal to the people of Kazakhstan. A video of his statement has circulated online, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.

“Dear people of Kazakhstan! I bow to you with respect. Thank you so much. You are supporting me and offering help for my son. I have come from the Department of Internal Affairs in the city of Konaev. The case is being handled fairly there, and lawyers are assisting us. I am also grateful for the help from the brother of the late Saltanat. I have a request for my people: please do not protest; let there be no bloodshed. If people gather around me, my enemies could use that moment against me, possibly staging an uprising and harming my family. That’s why, my people, I sincerely ask that there is no need for any uprising. I only ask for a fair and lawful decision. I do not ask for anything more,” said Karzhaubai Nuryimov.

He asked the public not to be swayed by provocations.

“Honestly, if there is any information to share, I will share it myself. Do not trust video recordings, audio recordings, or photos. We will have to hire a lawyer for a fee. I am not afraid of anyone and can answer for myself, but I am concerned for my family’s safety. I have been threatened multiple times, taken away, and even threatened over the phone. Some people pretending to be lawyers and former classmates tried to lure me outside to intimidate me. What I ask of my people is that no blood be shed. I demand an open trial. An open trial will lead to a fair decision. Do not fall for provocations. Let no mothers cry, and let no children’s blood be spilled! My brothers, my men, let us not be deceived or manipulated. My son is gone, but I want a better future for other children!” he said.
