"Media magnate" Armanzhan Baitasov is being investigated in a criminal case in Almaty on the fact of illegal acquisition of land by high-ranking officials. Information about this was published on the Kozachkov Telegram channel, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
"The trial has started in the specialized interdistrict court for criminal cases of Almaty city. Among the accusers are the former head of the board Almaskhan Akhmedzhanov and a group of officials related to land and construction permits led by Ardak Samambetov, who is in charge of land issues in the administration. This case involves not only civil servants, but also deputies of Almaty and large the case also concerns businessmen," the information says.
According to information, Armanzhan Baitasov is also involved in one of the cases.
"Unexpectedly, it turned out that several media owners are also involved in the construction. Among them is Tan Media Group LLP owned by Art-Media Corporation LLP. This is the company building the River Park residential complex in the center of Almaty. Residents of the residential complex complained that the heating system did not work. According to Antikor, this complex was built illegally, and Almaskhan Akhmedzhanov's son-in-law obtained the property from this residential complex bought at a decent discount. The apartment costs more than 30 million tenge, but the buyer bought it for 9 million tenge," said the information.
Akhmedzhanov was also accused of abuse of office.
"Officials have given permission to build residential complexes on the territory intended for private housing construction. For example, Boris Chen is one of those who committed illegal acts in agreement with Akhmedzhanov. Chen is currently serving time for embezzlement during the construction of two apartment complexes. He persuaded the head of the urban planning department to approve the construction of several houses on two plots of land. One of them is a private residential building, and the other is a general farm. The loss to the state exceeded 150 million tenge," the journalist noted.
Let's recall that earlier, the anti-corruption service announced that the official was suspected of abusing his official powers during the transfer of land plots and construction permits.
