Another step to the Russian border. Finland, which shares a 1271.8-kilometer border with Russia, has officially become a member of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki announced this.
"Finland is already in NATO! Congratulations! From now on, there are 31 countries in the alliance. Potential partners are a guarantee of the security of Poland, our neighborhood and the whole world," wrote the Prime Minister.
Let's remind that in January, the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, said that the authorities of Helsinki and Stockholm had not fully fulfilled the obligations regarding the membership of the North Atlantic Alliance. However, in March 2023, a decision was made to ratify the protocol on Finland's NATO membership.
