The President of the United States may be included among the nominees for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
According to Reuters, this was announced by Kristian Berg Harpviken, Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
He stated that a total of 287 candidates have been nominated for this year’s award. Among them, 208 are individuals and 79 are organizations.
The committee representative noted that the 2026 list includes many new names compared to last year.
“At this stage, the importance of the Peace Prize has increased. Today, there are no fewer significant initiatives in the world—perhaps even more than before,” he said.
