In Kazakhstan, applications for participation in the comprehensive test for master’s programs and the submission of documents for doctoral studies will begin on October 28, reports Adyrna.

Applications will be accepted online through the app.testcenter.kz portal. The document submission process will continue until November 10. During registration, applicants can choose the city where they will take the test, the language of the test, and the group of educational programs. These selections can only be changed before the end of the application period.

According to the Ministry, the comprehensive test for admission to master’s programs will be conducted in electronic format in November–December. Applicants will take a foreign language test, a test to assess academic and scientific readiness, and a specialized subject test. The total duration of the test is 3 hours and 55 minutes. The minimum passing score for educational program groups is 75 points.

Applicants to specialized master’s programs will take only the specialized subject test, with a minimum passing score of 30 points.

For doctoral (PhD) programs, candidates must first submit their documents to the admission committee of the university, and only then register with the National Testing Center. They are required to provide a KAZTEST certificate and a document confirming their foreign language proficiency. Applicants who hold a TOEFL ITP certificate must also take an additional English language test.

Entrance exams for doctoral programs will take place in December. To be admitted to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program, applicants must score at least 75 points, while the minimum passing score for specialized and industrial PhD programs is 50 points.

Information about the time and place of the tests and exams will be published in the applicants’ personal accounts on November 14.
