Senate deputies have ratified several agreements on military assistance to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the national portal Adyrna reports citing Orda.kz.

On March 2, 2021, during the state visit of Sadyr Zhaparov to Kazakhstan, an intergovernmental agreement on free military and technical assistance was signed between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

- The agreement provides for a one-time transfer of military equipment, ammunition and special equipment to the Kyrgyz side. The cost of transporting military equipment by road to the village of Koitash in the Kyrgyz Republic will be provided and borne by the Kazakh side. The Kyrgyz side will not transfer the seized military property or the right to use it to a third party, Deputy Minister of Defense Ruslan Shpekbayev said.

He noted that the transfer of military property to the Kyrgyz Republic will not affect the state of combat readiness and defense capabilities of Kazakhstan, as assistance will be provided from the surplus fund of this year's Armed Forces.

The second intergovernmental agreement on military and technical assistance between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan was signed on April 17, 2021. The document provides for a one-time transfer of military property, in particular ammunition, to the Tajik side.

- The Kazakh side will cover and bear the cost of delivery of military equipment by rail from Otar station in Zhambyl region to Dushanbe. The Tajik side shall not transfer the acquired military property or the right to use it to a third party. It should be noted that the transfer of military property to the Republic of Tajikistan will not affect the state of combat readiness and defense capabilities of Kazakhstan, as assistance will be provided from the surplus fund of this year's Armed Forces, - said Ruslan Shpekbayev.
