Foreign doctors who have contributed to the development of health care, as well as domestic infectious disease specialists who develop protocols for diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 have received the international award of Toregeldy Sharmanov, the national portal "Adyrna" reports citing Kazinform.
On February 16, 2021, the International Foundation of Toregeldy Sharmanov was established in Kazakhstan, whose activities are aimed at developing the idea of a universal right to health.
As part of the Foundation's activities, the winners of the Sharmanov International Prize were awarded.
Foreign scientists from Johns Hopkins University David Bishai and Mike Schleif, as well as Kazakhstani doctors, infectious disease specialists Bakhyt Kusherova and Amangul Duissenova, who developed the protocol for diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, received the award for their contribution to the development of primary health care.
During the event, Almaty Mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev congratulated Professor Toregeldy Sharmanov on his birthday and noted his significant contribution to the formation and development of the domestic health care system.
