Well-known political scientist Sanzhar Bokayev spoke about how the welfare of Kazakhstanis has changed over the past 10 years, and why the poor are getting poorer every year, the correspondent of the national portal "Adyrna" reports.

Sanzhar Bokayev made the following statement to the people of Kazakhstan on his Instagram page:

- In 2011, our average salary was 91 thousands tenge. And 10 years later in 2021 it was 251 thousands. I personally do not believe that the average salary of Kazakhstanis is 251 thousands tenge, and according to HeadHunter, the average salary of vacancies is about 180 thousands tenge.

- But as we are experts, we should refer only to official statistics. Therefore, according to these statistics, the average salary of Kazakhstanis has increased 2.5 times over 10 years. And when it comes to food, transport or housing, it is known that prices have risen 3-3.5 times, not 2.5 times.

In addition, the well-known political scientist noted that our economy is highly dependent on the dollar, as it is an import economy, and our prices depend on it.

- So we can see how our average salary has changed in dollars over 10 years. In 2011, our average salary was $ 626. And this year it’s $ 590. In dollar terms, our wages have fallen.

- And now, if we take our richest people, let's pay attention to how their income has changed. If we look at this table, in 2021 our richest citizens will be  richer than ever, - said Sanzhar Bokaev.

That is, according to a study by a political scientist, the group of 50 richest citizens of Kazakhstan, which is included in Forbes, has increased the total amount of money from 24 billions to 37 billions.

- What does it really mean? It makes sure that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer ... and this shows that our public policy is wrong, - says the political scientist.

In conclusion, Sanzhar Bokaev said: "We must immediately change our economic model. Otherwise, year by year we will grow further from our social distance, the rich will become richer and the poor will become poorer," he said.
