One of the most pressing issues in Zhetysai district of Turkestan region is the provision of arable land with the necessary sewage. The governor of Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev got acquainted with the process and visited the canal, which delivers water to about 100 thousand hectares of arable land. The facility of state importance was opened 10 years ago. Equipped with 12 pumps.

The main purpose of the canal, which is 16 km long, is to prevent water shortages during the water supply campaign from the Shardara reservoir and to provide a normal flow of water. 45 million m3 per season. The pumping units at the pumping station were repaired and the canals were mechanically cleaned.

The governor of the region Umirzak Shukeyev visited a new variety of raw cotton fields of the production cooperative "Ketebay" located in Karakai rural district of Zhetysai district. Founded 25 years ago, the cooperative owns 400 hectares of arable land. Today, Turkish and Chinese cotton varieties are grown here, which ripen in 130 days. Farmers who sow cotton seeds get 30-35 centners per hectare.

During the visit, the head of the region visited a dairy processing plant located in Satpayev village of Karakai rural district. This plant can process up to 30 tons of milk per day. It produces 20 types of products, including cheese, sour cream and kefir. The company fully covers the domestic market.
