A memorial ceremony was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport to honor those who died in the plane crash of flight Baku-Grozny J2-8243, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.
A minute of silence was observed to remember the victims of the tragic incident.
“A minute of silence was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in memory of those who died in the tragic event on flight Baku-Grozny J2-8243. May they rest in peace,” read the caption in the video.
People brought floral tributes to the memorial stand at the airport to remember the victims of the tragic event.
A video was posted on the airport’s official Telegram channel, showing passengers bowing their heads in respect, sorrow, and sympathy as a sign of mourning.
Azerbaijan Airlines also shared photographs from the memorial site. The images show people paying their respects by laying flowers at the memorial stand.
“We will never forget the precious lives lost in the crash of the Embraer 190 aircraft. This building, located at the south entrance of Terminal 2 of Baku Airport, has a deep meaning, inviting visitors to share prayers, memories, and respect from the heart,” the statement said.
