A Kazakh activist received an international award from the U.S. Secretary of State

Executive Director of the public association Adildik Zholy, Didar Smagulov, received a prestigious international award from the U.S. State Department for achievements in combating corruption, reports the national portal Adyrna.

The award was presented by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Smagulov shared the news on his personal social media page.

This recognition was given to Didar Smagulov for his efforts to reduce the level of corruption in Kazakhstan and implement systemic reforms. He credited this achievement to the tremendous work of the Adildik Zholy team.

“For me, this is a collective award. I am delighted that the international community has recognized our team’s efforts to introduce effective anti-corruption reforms and hold violators accountable in Kazakhstan,” he said.

Smagulov also expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and colleagues for their support.

“I am thrilled that our country’s progress in fighting corruption has been acknowledged at such a high level,” he wrote on his page.
