Recently, Nurlanbek Shakiyev, Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament, expressed the need to change the country’s national anthem, stating that it should be universal. President Sadyr Japarov supported this idea, as reported by the national portal “Adyrna.”

Japarov noted that the current anthem was written 33 years ago. “At that time, the authors wrote, ‘Kyrgyz people, your destiny is in your hands, strive forward.’ Since then, we have become a fully established state recognized by the entire world. Will we continue to speak about our newfound freedom and independence even 100 years from now? Why not create an anthem that celebrates our status as an independent nation with a 5,000-year history and inspires youth and future generations?” said Japarov.

The president also raised the issue of redesigning the national flag. He suggested that the new flag is an improvement over the previous one. “The rays on the old flag resembled a sunflower or a bee disc. Now, when you look at the new flag, it’s immediately clear that these are sun rays, shining brightly,” said the leader of Kyrgyzstan.
