The mayor of Karkaraly district in the Karaganda region, Adilzhan Arginov, addressed his fellow residents regarding the fire. He posted this message on his Instagram account, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.

First, the district mayor provided an update on the firefighting efforts to the local residents.

“Dear district residents! As you know, a large wildfire is currently happening in our area. To organize the firefighting efforts properly, an emergency headquarters has been set up in the village of Terekty. I am here with the deputy governor of the region. A total of 386 people, 64 pieces of equipment, as well as helicopters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense, have been mobilized,” he said.

Adilzhan Arginov then addressed the spread of false information on social media regarding the firefighting efforts.

“Dear fellow residents! There are various messages on social media about offering help or raising funds. I want to clarify that information suggesting our efforts are disorganized or that support is insufficient is false. We currently have all the necessary resources. Our soldiers have food, rest areas, and sufficient fuel supplies. Therefore, all firefighting efforts are organized appropriately,” he said.

The district mayor also urged residents to remain calm and not to believe misinformation.
