A Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) officer, Khali Khairat, died while extinguishing a wildfire in the Karaganda region. The tragic incident occurred on October 6, reports “Adyrna.”
“During the performance of his official duties, the senior firefighter-rescuer of the 24th fire department was killed. The sergeant had been working in civil defense since 2014. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. A pre-trial investigation has been launched,” the report states.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that it would provide comprehensive assistance and support to the family of the deceased firefighter.
It is worth mentioning that on October 6, dry grass burned near the village of Koyandy in the Karaganda region’s Karaganda district. Forces and equipment from the forestry department, MES, and voluntary fire-fighting units were immediately dispatched to the fire scene.
