Tokayev received the heads of the security agencies of CIS countries

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with participants of the 55th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS countries, as reported by the Akorda press service.

The head of state emphasized that this platform has been recognized as a mechanism for coordinating efforts in the field of security and that the Council’s role has become even more significant in the current complex period.

The president noted that timely exchange of urgent and analytical information enhances the ability to counter threats and challenges to regional security and contributes to preparing coordinated approaches to protect our countries’ national interests.

He expressed confidence that the outcomes of this meeting would facilitate the strengthening of cooperation in ensuring international security and create favorable conditions for further developing interaction among the special services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states.

The meeting was attended by leaders from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center and the Executive Committee.
