The Prime Minister criticized the fire protection works, the national portal "Adyrna" reported referring to KazInformation.

Last year, more than 116,000 hectares of forest reserves were burned in the country. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov said that heat and drought are expected this year.

"Every year there are about a thousand natural fires in the country. The silent enemy poses a great threat to human life and the environment. Last year, more than 116 thousand hectares of forest reserves were burned. There are already very few forest areas in our country, their territory is getting smaller every year due to fires," said O. Bektenov at the Government meeting.
