A major fire broke out in a furniture shop in Astana, reported the national portal "Adyrna" referring to the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies.
"On January 23, at 9:20 p.m., fire departments of the Astana Fire Department responded to a fire report at Dukenuly Street, 31/11S. Upon reaching the scene at 9:26 p.m., it was found that furniture blanks, plastic and rubber products were on fire in an area of 1,200 square meters in the furniture making workshop of the increased level," said the report on Wednesday.
A fire brigade was established at the scene.
"Quick and coordinated actions of firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. Firefighters suppressed the fire at 22:40 and completely extinguished it at 23:19. There are no casualties or damage. 93 people and 18 units of equipment from the capital's emergency department, as well as employees of the Emergency Medicine Center, were mobilized to extinguish the fire," the report said.
