Chinese investors are asking for 100,000 hectares of land in West Kazakhstan region. They are going to open a factory for the processing of antelope meat in the region by renting the land. Akim of the region Nariman Toregaliyev said this during a briefing held at the Central Communications Service, "Adyrna" correspondent reported.
The head of the region announced that the Chinese approached the mayor's office about two months ago.
"Foreigners expressed their intention to build a factory together with their Kazakh colleagues. This enterprise plans to fully process antelope and cattle meat. We listened to their proposal and presented our terms. The company must be registered in the region, so all tax deductions supplement the region's budget. The factory should employ local people. Investors must fulfill their obligations. Otherwise, the land will be confiscated. If we agree to the contract and find money, we will give the land. There is nothing to fear, they cannot own the land, they cannot resell it. Attracting investment to the region is the main task for us," said Nariman Toregaliev.
