Article on the Vice President of Kazakhstan may be removed from the Constitution. Minister of Justice Azamat Eskaraev said about this, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

At the Majilis square, journalists asked the Minister of Justice "why this norm is still in the Constitution and will it be removed?" asked a question, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

"This is not news. This norm was in the 1993 Constitution. During the presidential re-election period in 1995-1996, this norm was deliberately left in a transitional state. Now, according to the Constitution, we do not have such a position. As the legislation develops, this issue will be resolved. "I do not deny that, perhaps, such a norm will be considered to be removed from the Constitution," answered Eskaraev.

It should be noted that Article 94 of the Constitution of Kazakhstan still mentions the vice president. He held the position of vice president in the country only in 1991-1996. The first and only person who performed this function is Erik Asanbayev. He passed away in 2004.
