Temirtai Izbastin, a relative of Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, will be relieved of his post as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria after the amendments to the Constitution. This was reported by the national portal "Adyrna" with reference to sputnik.kz.
According to the new amendments, close relatives of the President of Kazakhstan will not be able to hold senior positions in the civil service, including diplomats.

"In general, the Constitution prohibits close relatives of the president from holding political positions. The list is very extensive, it includes a certain number of diplomats," Justice Minister Kanat Musin said at a briefing.
"In this case, will Tokayev's relative, Kazakhstan's ambassador to Bulgaria, be removed from office?" Journalists asked.
"After such a ban, of course, everything will be in accordance with the law. The word 'removal' is probably a term left to us from the Soviet era. He will resign because he is not legally able to perform this function," Musin said.

It's worth noting that Temirtai is married to  Tokayev's sister Karliga Izbastina (Tokayeva).
