The National Security Committee has released new data on the criminal case against Massimov and others on suspicion of high treason, seizure of power and abuse of office, the national portal "Adyrna" reports with reference to Tengrinews.kz.

"The document contains facts of illegal acquisition of real estate, expensive gifts, including cultural property, large sums of money from representatives of the domestic business community and foreign entities.

In particular, an investigation is underway into the fact that Massimov, as chairman of the KNB, received a bribe of 2 million US dollars from representatives of foreign countries under one of the closed contracts, "the statement reads.

It was noted that these funds will be returned from Hong Kong to the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
