From January 1, 2022, the minimum wage in the country will increase from 42,500 to 60 thousand tenge, according to the national portal "Adyrna".
This was stated by President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev in his message today:
"The minimum wage in the country has not increased since 2018. The global crisis has affected the success of Kazakhstanis. Moreover, in terms of the minimum wage, Kazakhstan lags behind a number of CIS countries. In this regard, I decided to increase the minimum wage from 42,500 tenge to 60 thousand tenge from January 1, 2022. This initiative covers more than 1 million Kazakhstanis. This, in turn, will eliminate the problem of shadow wages and have a positive impact on the country's economy. And according to experts, this will increase GDP by 1.5 times, "said President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev during the Address.
