In Turkmenabat, as in Ashgabat, food was delivered to the yards. According to Turkmen.news, the new order has been applied in two districts of the city, the national portal Adyrna reports.

The food bag includes five kilograms of flour worth 10 manats ($ 0.3), a bottle of cotton oil worth 10 manats, as well as chicken legs, a liter of sunflower oil, sugar and some additional products to justify the money.

The total cost of a set of food is 70 manats. (As of August 22, the dollar exchange rate on the "black market" in Ashgabat is 32.8 manats per 1 dollar).

Previously, these bags were delivered to state stores. Now a truck with groceries is walking around the yard.

There is no exact delivery schedule, the driver only calls by pressing the car alarm.

Neighbors called each other when they heard the sound of a car.

Earlier, in the spring of 2021, a similar system was introduced in Ashgabat. Currently, bags are delivered to homes in the capital in an average of 10 days.

In some areas the schedule is strictly adhered to, but elsewhere less food is imported.

Sources believe that the authorities are thus fighting the queue in the shops of the state.

For several years, independent media coverage of food ratios was a testament to Turkmenistan's unfavorable economic situation.

However, such photos are not often published: the Turkmen special services carefully search for the authors of such photos and severely punish them.

In general, Turkmenistan tightens the rules for selling products at fixed prices.

Until the spring of 2020, there was a shortage of food in state stores, and as soon as they arrived on the shelves, everyone could buy them.

Situational restrictions were introduced: for example, a certain amount of product was given to one person.

But if the same product is on sale the next day, the person can buy it again. Later, the "shop" was closed.

In the spring of 2020, a system of rationing was introduced in virtually all regions of Turkmenistan.

Now every family has the right to buy only a certain amount of food every month.

At the same time, no one officially names the extradition rules provided for by law.

Such information is not published in the official media. Buyers can only receive what the seller has sent.

Bringing food home not only helps to avoid queues, but also helps to more strictly regulate the distribution of food.

At the same time, it is known that such a system was introduced only in Ashgabat and Turkmenabat.

Sources in Dashoguz say they will not do so.

There are no shortage of private shops in Turkmenistan. But for most citizens, the prices in these stores are too high. For example, a bottle of oil costs 60-65 manats (about 2 dollars at the market price). This is the price of almost all food bags in Turkmenabat.

The country has a high unemployment rate and low incomes for working people.

So families have to get a backpack.

Goods are purchased in commercial stores only when needed.
