On behalf of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "Center for Human Resources Development" has developed a long-term demographic forecast for Kazakhstan until 2050.
Based on statistics and modeling, experts predict that by 2030 the number of workers will reach 9.7 millions, in 2040 this figure will reach 10.7 millions, and by 2050 will increase to 11.4 millions.
At the same time, according to the main scenario, by 2030 the country's population will be about 20.7 million people, by 2040 this figure will reach 22.9 million people, and by 2050 it will increase to 25.5 million people.
"According to the forecast, by 2030 the percentage of the labor force will decrease to 46.7% due to the high birth rate and the aging population. This means that the burden on the economically active population will increase, "said Dmitry Shumekov, Director of the Forecasting Department of ERDO.
