The President ordered to prolong the quarantine measures for two weeks

The Head of State held a meeting on problematic issues related to the epidemiological situation in the country. This was reported by "Adyrna" with reference to Akorda.

Prime Minister Askar Mamin reported to the President that the number of infected people has decreased by 29% since the introduction of strict quarantine measures in the country on July 5. The number of infected people per day ranged from 1,500 to 1,600. The number of patients in hospitals decreased by 43%, including the number of patients in intensive care units by 27%. The number of recovery increased to 63%. The number of ambulance calls has decreased. Thus, the main tension of the health care system has been reduced.

In addition, Askar Mamin informed Kassym-ZhomartTokayev with the situation in the regions on key indicators such as morbidity and mortality, availability and quality of medical care, the level of testing of the population, the provision of intensive care and resuscitation wards with the necessary drugs and medical equipment. It was the  information of daily monitoring.

Minister of Health, Alexey Tsoy briefed the President on the ways to ease quarantine measures gradually by taking into account the impact of infrastructure on the epidemiological situation and the economy.

The President paid attention to the importance of further reducing the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the resulting mortality.

In order to further increase the positive effect of the restrictive measures introduced in July, as well as the possible worsening of the epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev ordered to the State Commission to extend the quarantine measures for two weeks.
